Quote for the Day

One of my fave political satirists, Mark Russel, was on NPR yesterday as I was driving from work. Talking politics as usual, Dems taking over Congress in particular he said,(I'm getting it as close as I can) "Republicans were afraid of the Democrats taking over because they would enforce their hippie attitudes on the heartland. The heartland responded by lighting a joint." It's a good thing I was at a stop light. I was laughing so freakin' hard.

Smallville Rocks

I finally got to see last weeks episode of Smallville on the WB/CW (don't understand what CW means.) They had yet another meteor freak with special mole powers. The best part was the end was Lex walking down the hall with some wonderfully eerie, dancy, yet creepy music from AFI. This was the point where we see this Lex in all his evilness as THE Lex Luthor that we have all come to love and hate. And then there was the preview for next weeks show. OMGFG!!!!
All of the DC superheroes that have appeared in past episodes show up for what looks like a Justice League!!!! I wonder if Martian Manhunter will show up too? Oh, man, I hope so. I was so girly geeky when I saw that I squealed.

I'm glad I waited to watch this one. I might have died in anticipation for this weeks episode.

The Blizzard of '06

I won't say the reason we moved to Tulsa was the weather. There were more important reasons involved in the move. It was a factor. I can't tell you how many times I heard Jack say when we were in Hartford, "We don't have weather like this in Oklahoma." Oh yeah? For the first time in recorded history there was a blizzard warning in Tulsa. In one day we got about 12". Jeez... I moved to get away from this crap. Well, you know...

It was interesting to see how southerners deal with the snow. At about 5" people were absolutely petrified of driving home in the snow. There were a few of us from snow country. One woman from Chicago and a man who worked at Depot on Nashua, NH. They were surprised about how much we didn't care. Then there were the few customers who came into the store because they figured it wouldn't be busy and could get all the attention they wanted. Now, the snow didn't really bother me for driving but I still wouldn't be out designing a bathroom in the middle of a blizzard. Don't get it.

Madonna... Hmm...

So, I'm watching Madonna on broadcast tv. Go fig. FCC doesn't allow Janet's booby or Howard Stern's humor. But Madonna randomly humping handrails and the floor is ok. Oh sure it's good enough for Prime Time Thanksgiving Eve.

As always there is throbbing and writhing flesh all over the stage. I don't get the equestrian thing. But it's kinda cool looking

Whoa... Now we're into the disco set. Let's mix in some Dance Inferno with Muzik. I really don't get the disco thing. Wasn't Madonna the one who declared disco dead? Heck, didn't she put the final nail in the coffin?

Now she's in this out fit that looks like the one Olivia Newton John wore in the "Let's Get Physical" video. Yep, and she's singing Erotic, the disco mix. La Isla Bonita the disco mix is not much better. That is one on my favorites.

I liked the majority of the show. No, really, I did. I just find that final disco set uninteresting and kinda boring. Never thought I'd say that about Madonna.

I'm a bad blogger

I'm finally getting settled into the new digs. I spend less and less time getting crap organized. My husband is going crazy decorating his son's digs here a' la Spiderman. We even took him shopping and gave him the option of Spiderman, Superman or Batman sheets... He went with Spiderman. Even when given a Fantastic Four option for a something or other ( I forget what it was exactly), he picks Spiderman. Ugh... Someday I'll get him to have an open mind.

In response to this inundation of Spiderman I have decided to make a Batman/Superman quilt. Probably crib size. At a later date I may make a Spiderman one. I made a twin size for my step-son and it kicked butt. When we have a kid. Mommy will have a quilt to wrap baby up in and Daddy will have one. I'm afraid though that if we have a boy I will be in a house of Marvel Men. I almost want a girl so that I can make a Wonder Woman costume for her.

Comic book day tomorrow. My DH is going out of town for the night after work. More comics for meeeee........

Moving sucks

But I have my new comic store. I have my list in and hopefully I'll be able to get more than one book. I'll have more when I get some sleep.
